pharmacological and biological action of the active substances in each plant, and the

MEGALIV contains natural substances useful for the liver, extracted from Artichoke,
Dandelion, Armourium, Greater celandine, St. John's wort, Phyllantus niruri and Kutki, all
picked at the optimal time.
Milkweed (Silybum marianum): silymarin extracted from milkweed seeds prevents toxins
from entering cells and stimulates liver regeneration by forming new liver cells. Armorial
seeds have the effect of hepatocellular protection and according to the latest research, silybin
and silycristin (compounds of silymarin) cause the regeneration of liver tissues.
Artichoke (Cynara scolymus): artichoke leaves have hepatoprotective, liver function
stimulating and choleretic properties (increase the flow of secreted bile). Cholesterol- and
lipid-lowering action is also reported. Preparations containing Artichoke are recommended in
hepatobiliary dysfunctions, especially in biliary insufficiency, in subacute and chronic
cholecystitis, in angiocolitis (inflammation of the bile ducts), in partial obstructions of the
hepatocholedochus, in subacute, chronic hepatitis and in precirrhosis.
Mouse eyes (Phylantus niruri, amarus): is an important plant of the Indian Ayurvedic
medicine system, being used in preparations for liver problems: hepatitis B, lithiasis,
hyperlipidemia, hepatotoxicity and biological oxidation. Phyllanthus niruri extracts have been
shown to have a hepatoprotective effect and accelerate liver cell function. Another study
reported the hepatoprotective effect of Phyllanthus amarus in ethanol (alcohol)-induced
hepatotoxicity.
Dandelion (Taraxum officinale): it is considered a bitter tonic, draining and stimulant of
hepato-biliary secretion and decongestant. Among the many therapeutic indications, we

mention: in chronic angiocolitis, liver congestion, liver failure and even in jaundice, kidney
and gallstones, hypercholesterolemia.
Greater celandine (Chelidonium majus): total extracts from this plant have remarkable
antibiotic effects on a large number of pathogens (bacteria, fungi), choleretic-cholagogue
properties (contributes to the contraction of bile and the evacuation of bile into the
duodenum), being used in hepato- biliary, cholecystopathies and in initial liver cirrhosis.
Since the active substances responsible for the antiviral actions in the case of hepatitis A, B,
C do not exist in the dry plant, in the new product MEGALIV, the extraction was made from
the whole plant (all parts of the plant, including the root and rhizomes) in a raw state,
immediately after harvesting.
St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum): ensures the normal functioning of the hepato-
biliary system, destroys the viruses that cause hepatitis B and C and supports liver
detoxification. St. John's wort fights liver cell degeneration, jaundice, cirrhosis, progressive
chronic hepatitis, liver failure, fatty infiltration of the liver and biliary dyskinesia.
Kutki (Picrorhiza kurroa): extracts from this root have excellent anti-inflammatory and
antibacterial properties and in Ayurvedic medicine, Kutki is included in preparations for its
hepatoprotective, cholagogic, anti-hepatomegaly, detoxifying, antimicrobial effects. It is
widely used to relieve jaundice and liver infections.
Ingredients/capsule:
– hydroethanolic extract 5:1 (maltodextrin 5%) from Artichoke leaves (Cynara
scolymus) – 70 mg.
– aqueous extract 4:1 (maltodextrin from the fruits of Armorariu (Silybum marianum) –
70 mg.
– Powder from aerial parts of Phyllanthus niruri – 70 mg.
– Dandelion root powder (Taraxum officinale) – 35 mg.
– Powder from aerial parts of Greater celandine (Chelidonium majus) – 35 mg.
– Powder from aerial parts of St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) – 35 mg.
– Kutki root powder (Picrorhiza kurroa) – 35 mg.
Direction to use:
– each 2 cps. 3 times a day, depending on health and age. Consult your specialist for the
